Jyoti is a dedicated registered social worker specializing in elder abuse at Age Concern Auckland. With a passion for bringing positive changes and happiness to the lives of older adults, she has made significant contributions to the community. As a Founding Member of Disha NZ, Jyoti’s vision is centered on serving the community and fostering empowerment.
With over 19 years of community service in New Zealand, Jyoti’s commitment to helping individuals and families is unwavering. She began her journey as a Children Development teacher, where she initiated programs to support the well-being of children, youth, and families. Her leadership in these areas has led to positive changes in education, health, and overall well-being.
Recognizing the importance of women’s empowerment, Jyoti established a ladies’ group to provide women with a platform to connect, grow, and access resources for personal and professional development. This initiative has empowered many women to thrive in their communities.
As a migrant herself, Jyoti understands the challenges newcomers face. She actively volunteers and advocates to provide essential support and resources, helping newcomers integrate smoothly into their new communities.
In her free time, Jyoti enjoys kitchen gardening, reflecting her passion for nurturing and growth.
Jyoti also serves as a Justice of the Peace and has been honored with a Local Hero Award for her exceptional contributions, highlighting her dedication and impact.
